Air Duct Cleaning

air duct cleaning

Are you ready to improve the indoor air quality (IAQ) of your Boise home while increasing the efficiency of your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system?

According to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), your indoor air could be up to five times more polluted than the air outside. With the average American spending 90 percent of time indoors, keeping your indoor air quality optimal and maximizing your comfort is imperative.

Western Heating & Air Conditioning offers a variety of air duct services to help enhance your indoor comfort.

The ductwork hidden behind your walls, floors, and ceilings helps deliver fresh air to every part of your home. Clean ducts can save you bucks—improving the airflow and reducing the stress on your furnace and air conditioner lowers your energy bills.

As your trusted heating and cooling professionals, we recommend routine air duct cleanings to remove contaminants and other debris that might compromise your Idaho air quality. We would be happy to take care of the job for you.

Will Cleaning My Home Help?

Keeping your home clean by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming dust, dirt, and debris can help reduce the number of allergens and contaminants in your home. However, there are over 900 particles and chemicals lingering in the air of an average home.

Cleaning can help, but it’s not going to solve the problem entirely. Any dust and other particles in your ductwork will end up circulating throughout the different areas of your home—and you’ll end up breathing it in unless you have routine professional air duct cleanings and maintenance services to help get rid of the pollutants.

Air Duct Cleaning

By using spinning brushes and high-pressure air hoses that connect to a vacuum system, we can successfully clean all of the surfaces of your HVAC system, all without creating any mess in your home. We’ll show you images of your ductwork before we start and how improved it looks after we finish.

You can also opt for additional air duct services using sanitizers, deodorizers, and disinfectants. At Western Heating & Air Conditioning, we want to remove harmful pollutants and keep your home as safe as possible. We only use safe cleaning products, so you don’t have to worry about children, elders, or pets in the home breathing in anything dangerous.

Breathe better and enjoy your living space with the help of our air duct professionals at Western Heating & Air Conditioning. For many years, our team of EPA-certified experts has helped families in the Boise area by eliminating pollutants and improving their indoor air quality—we can help keep your home comfortable too.

Are you losing warm or cool air because of a leak or tear in your ductwork? We can resolve the issue for you and help you get the most out of your HVAC system. The EPA estimates the average home loses up to 30 percent of air traveling through ductwork due to leaks and tears.

There is no need to force your system to work harder than necessary. Just give us a call so we can perform a proper inspection and make any repairs.

If you want to improve your indoor air quality, plus your heating and cooling, our Western Heating & Air Conditioning professionals are here to provide you with a solution. We work hard to remain the most reliable, trustworthy, and efficient HVAC company in Idaho. No matter the scope of the project, we can help by providing the support you need.

Our Process

Our professionals are always careful and thorough when performing duct cleanings. We will begin by assessing the crawl space and checking that all ducts are hung and connected properly.

If your ductwork is in good shape and there aren’t excessive creases, we will continue with the duct cleaning process. However, if any of your ductwork is disconnected or damaged, we will address this first. Up to three repairs are included with the cost of your duct cleaning service.

We will prepare for your duct cleaning by cutting an 8-inch circle in the sheet metal by your furnace. After, we will install coupling to run a 10-inch pipe from your furnace to our duct cleaning machine. The duct cleaning machine we use is gas-powered and will run from outside of your home.

The next step is for us to go to each floor register and remove the vent cover. We will clean any buildup of dust or dirt off the vent cover for you and then check your ductwork for any toys, chunks drywall, and/or debris. Using a hand vacuum with a shop vac, we will remove any large pieces in your ductwork to prevent damaging the duct cleaning machine.

Then, we will turn on the duct cleaning machine. This will put negative pressure on all of the ductwork in your home and help remove debris. If you place your hand over a vent when the machine is on, it will feel like your furnace is running backwards at an excessive speed.

We run a series of air powered wands (spinning brushes) through each duct. Our expert technician picks which wand to use based on the type and size of duct material. The wand breaks up debris stuck to the ductwork, and then it gets sucked into the duct cleaning machine. This process removes debris without causing a mess inside your home.

Once we are finished, we will remove the coupling from the sheet metal in your duct work and patch it back up. We will go into the crawl space to confirm the cleaning did not disconnect any of your ductwork.

We end the duct cleaning process by going on a walkthrough with you to ensure you are completely satisfied with the service. Our professionals are highly skilled and trained to provide exceptional results so we guarantee you will be happy with the service provided, or we will make it right!
